Spring trip to Key West

Postby tbplus10 » Sun Jan 10, 2010 9:32 pm

The wife and I are planning a spring trip to Key West FL. Havent worked out all the logistics yet.
Plans are to go from DFW to New Orleans the first night.
NOLA to Tampa FL. the second night.
Pick up my cousin in Tampa and ride our bikes to the Keys for 3 days.
Return trip will be Keys, Tampa 1 night, Panama City FL. 1 night, DFW.
I dont know if we'll ride the bike to Tampa or trailer it to Tampa and ride to the Keys, back to Tampa and trailer back to DFW.
Right now trailering is looking like the best option.
I'm also waiting on a date for delivery of my new bike, I recently found out my 09 Nightrain is considered a collectable since Harley closed Nightrain production last year. So I'm parking the Nightrain except for special occaisions and I ordered a 2010 FLH Street Glide in two tone White ice Pearl/Black ice Pearl. It'll cost me my Pan Head and a few $$ but the Pan Head is a rough bike that only seems to want to be ridden when the temperatures over 80 deg, otherwise it runs like trash.

Sounds like a fun trip planned.

I'm actually looking at a 2006 Night train myself that my buddy has. How fun would that trip be across the southern States. ROAD TRIP!

Oh yea.

Does your buddy know the Nightrains are out of production?
Dont let him find out until after you buy cause the prices are climbing.

To be honest with you I didn't notice on the Harley dealer website the other day. I thought I seen them listed as 2010 maybe I'm seeing things. Maybe cuz the Fat boy LO looks so much like it

Yea the Fat Boy Lo looks real close to a Nightrain.

Notice the Trikes on the HD website?
Harley stopped using Lehman for their Trike production, starting in 2010 all Harley Trikes will be built in house.

The wife swears she'd ride a trike on her own (been trying to get her a bike of her own for a while now) but I doubt she would. I might go to a trike in the next few years, we'll see how the leg holds up.
