Lately my son has been playing it alot. He loves making the sims do all kinds of stuff.
He built a house in edit mode that had like 10 pools inside it. Nothing else. So you know where his mindset is.
I've been watching the sims interact with their little world as he plays. I honestly can't say that I could find the desire to play this game.
First of all the sims are full grown, and for some reason don't know enough to pee in the toilet. You have to tell them to do it when the urge comes up, otherwise they piddle on the floor.
Seriously! I watched as my son made his sim eat food because the sim was hungry but didn't have the sense to make food and feed itself. Then the sim put the plate on the floor after he finished eating.
The sim game starts out with your sim living with it's mother. The mother is a total slob, and complains about everything. Additionally she will sometimes set fire to the house, kill the fish, break the TV and turn the radio on at 3am when you're trying to make your sim sleep, just to name a few things
While she has some sense of self preservation she has no qualms with making herself food and leaving a mess. She's constantly griping and the audio comes out "GO FRAG A DILLA!" among other nonsensical comments.
Who has the time to micro-manage a digital life? The sim is bored so tell it to read. It's dirty so tell it to bathe. Ok, I have kids, that one I kinda understand. The sim is tired but won't go to sleep until it's exhausted, and then passes out wherever it happens to be standing.
Yesterday my son said his sim died. I didn't think this happened in this game, but he really neglected the sim so...maybe.
This is not a review, just me commenting on what an idiotic game this is. If you lack so much control in your life that you need to play this game for satisfaction you might want to check yourself into the local clinic.
